Brought to you by an inspiring group of talented individuals; few if
any, you might know... and many that you won't.; some that you will wish you knew... and all of whom you will surely
want to know more about.
Listen just once to this mesmerizing music video and we guarantee:
You will never again pass up a street musician or a subway troubadour without tossing them a few coins or a few
bills and thinking about this video, and their lives... and yours. You will not be unmoved.
An
absolutely transformative experience, this particular video, originally produced by the fast-growing Playing for Change
organization, was televised nationally in October of 2008, introduced and presented by the distinguished and multi-award-winning
journalist and host of PBS' Bill Moyers' Journal.
Please... give a listen now, to the classic social anthem originally made famous by Ben E. King,
"STAND BY ME" ... performed as you have never heard it before.
From the coming motion picture "Playing for Change, Peace through
Music" Pass it on.
If you want to get actively involved in this growing movement and
join the many very gifted musical artists and other folks around the world who donate their time,

New York City's Very First AnnualP.S. Arts Week - A Concert in the Park,
From
June 2 to June 5, thousands of New Yorkers came together at numerous locations and venues around the City to celebrate student
achievement in the arts in our public schools during the first-ever P.S. Arts Week. The students gathered with their family members,
teachers, notable NYC school alumni, and other friends of the public schools to showcase their talent and the extraordinary
arts programs being conducted and presented in New York City public schools.
On Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008, The Horan School (P79M), an Upper Manhattan High School for Students with Special
Needs, in creative partnership with the New York City non-profit arts organization, InCollaboration, Incorporated, widely known as the Readers Theatre Workshop, presented a number of the high school students, together with several
guest artists, in a Very Special Musical Presentation, a Concert in the Park, at the Park Amphitheater in Morris Garvey Park, in Upper Manhattan.
The original 75-year old Amphitheater, seating 1600, was a gift to the people of the City of New York from
the noted American Composer Richard Rogers who at one time lived across the street from the park, In recent years, it has
hosted the Charlie Parker Jazz Festival and performances by such luminaries as Aretha Franklin and Quincy Jones. The 20-acre
park runs from 120th to124th Streets and is bordered by Madison Avenue on the East side and Mount Morris Park Avenue
on the West.
The approximately 2-hour concert, featuring Hip Hop, and Rock tracks, many created, composed, and
performed by the students, seasoned with some loving guidance and inspiration provided by several dedicated Teaching
and Performing Artists, which began at 10:30 AM was open to the general public. The concert was a great success and
a good time was had by all. You can listen to some of the music performed live at the concert - just click here.
